The bonding is a direct restoration with composite of broken or malpositioned teeth. This type of treatment is esthetic and cheaper compared to veneers.
What is a veneer?
The veneer is a “flake” of composite or ceramics that is fabricated in a lab and is bonded to the tooth.
What is a ceramic crown?
A crown that is fabricated of pure ceramic (no metal). It is highly esthetic and tissue friendly (it doesn’t contain metal so there is no risk of allergy and bimetallism).
What is the difference between a veneer and a crown?
The veneer requires a very conservative tooth preparation – only 0.5 mm of the tooth thickness is removed. For crown preparation 1.5-2 mm of the tooth thickness is removed.
What is a ruberdam?
It is a rubber canvas that is placed around teeth during their treatment. The ruberdam isolates the tooth from the saliva and microorganisms in the mouth and protects the patient from swallowing toxic and unpleasant medications.
What is a warm vertical condensation?
This is a method for root canal obturation with gutta-percha that provides a hermetic seal of the canal and does not allow for microorganisms to invade the root canal system again.
What is an implant?
It is a titanium screw that is placed in the bone. A crown is placed on an implant.
What is periodontitis?
This is a disease that is characterized with inflammation of gums and the bone that supports the teeth. It is manifested with bone loss, gum bleeding, teeth mobility and even teeth loss.
